The Republican Party is insane.
Except they don’t really dream of ending government. It’s all a ruse. What they fight for is a really BIG government that restricts civil rights, women’s rights, worker’s rights, environmental protection/conservation/restoration, empiricism, discourse, and dare I say, an actual free market. Also, I personally don’t know much about Mr. Bartlett but although you could argue even Reagan wasn’t this draconian, his administration was the first to really start perpetuating the myth that gov is the problem, and that the free market and supply side economics was the way forward. My two points: Neocons love government, just one that works for the elite industries that benefit from our tax dollars; my last point is that Reagan was a terrible president.
